• इन्वेस्ट इंडिया और बिजनेस फ्रांस ने भारत एवं फ्रांस के स्टार्ट अप्स के बीच सहयोग बढ़ाने तथा निवेश में सहूलियत के लिए एक सहमति पत्र (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

          उद्देश्य : इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य उद्यमों को व्यावहारिक निवेश सूचनाएं सुलभ कराते हुए प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी निवेश को सुविधाजनक बनाना है।

• इसके अतिरिक्त दोनों देशों के आर्थिक विकास में सकारात्मक योगदान करने वाले अवसरों पर अपना ध्यान केन्द्रित करने वाली कम्पनियों को आवश्यक सहयोग प्रदान करना भी इसका खास मकसद है।

          इन्वेस्ट इंडिया क्या है

• इन्वेस्ट इंडिया भारत सरकार की आधिकारिक निवेश संवर्धन एवं सुविधा प्रदाता एजेंसी है, जिसे देश में निवेश को सुविधाजनक बनाने की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गई है।
• यह देश में संभावित वैश्विक निवेशकों के लिए सबसे पहला केन्द्र है।

          बिजनेस फ्रांस क्या है

• बिजनेस फ्रांस आर्थिक मामलों एवं वित्त मंत्री और विदेश एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विकास मंत्री के पर्यवेक्षण में फ्रांस सरकार की एक कार्यकारी एजेंसी है।
• यह 80 व्यापार आयोगों के एक विश्वव्यापी नेटवर्क के जरिए फ्रांस की कम्पनियों और प्रोफेशनलों के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय व्यवसाय विकास को बढ़ावा देती है।

लंदन में आयोजित हुआ वैश्विक विकलांगता शिखर सम्मेलन-2018

• केन्या और यूनाइटेड किंगडम संयुक्त रूप से लंदन में पहली बार वैश्विक विकलांगता शिखर सम्मेलन-2018 का आयोजन किया।
• श्रम और सामाजिक संरक्षण कैबिनेट सचिव उकुर यटानी ने 24 जुलाई 2018 को कहा था कि वे विकलांगों पर डेटा अपडेट करेंगे और उनकी उम्र, लिंग और स्थान से उन्हें वर्गीकृत करेंगे।

          उद्देश्य : इसका उद्देश्य मई में नैरोबी में आयोजित एक और शिखर सम्मेलन के बाद अक्षमता को संबोधित करने के प्रयासों को प्रेरित करना है।

• यह इवेंट, सभी के साथ मिलकर काम करने, विचारों को साझा करने और ऐसी कोशिशों के बारे में है, जिससे यह सुनिश्चित किया जा सके कि हम एक समृद्ध दुनिया की ओर कदम बढ़ा रहे हैं, और ऐसे में कोई भी पीछे न छूटने पाए।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ब्रिक्स सम्मेलन में हिस्सा लेने दक्षिण अफ्रीका पहुंचे

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 26 जुलाई को दक्षिण अफ्रीका के जोहानिसबर्ग में ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन को संबोधित करेंगे।
• इस वर्ष शिखर सम्मेलन का विषय है—‘’अफ्रीका में ब्रिक्स (BRICS in Africa) चौथी औद्योगिक क्रांति में समावेशी वृद्धि और साझा समृद्धि’’ के लिये सहयोग।
• मोदी के अलावा ब्रिक्स के अन्य चार देशों ब्राज़ील, रूस, चीन और दक्षिण अफ्रीका के शासनाध्यक्ष भी बैठक में भाग लेंगे।
• आपको बता दें, कि यह तीन दिवसीय ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन का 10वा संस्करण है।

          जाने लायक

• ब्रिक्स पांच प्रमुख उभरती अर्थव्यवस्थाओं का समूह है जिसमें ब्राजील, रूस, भारत, चीन और दक्षिण अफ्रीका शामिल हैं।
• शुरूआत में पहले चार को ब्रिक नाम दिया गया था, बाद में 2010 में इसमें दक्षिण अफ्रीका को शामिल किया गया।

कारगिल विजय दिवस की 19वीं वर्षगांठ मनाई गई

• 26 जुलाई 2018 करगिल विजय दिवस की 19वीं वर्षगांठ मनाई गई।
• यह दिन 1999 में करगिल युद्ध में पाकिस्तान पर भारत की विजय और देश के लिए प्राण न्यौछावर करने वाले सैनिकों की याद में मनाया जाता है।
• 26 जुलाई, 1999 को भारत ने ऊंचे इलाकों की उन सभी चौकियों की कमान सफलतापूर्वक हासिल कर ली थी, जिन पर पाकिस्तानी आक्रमणकारियों ने कब्जा कर लिया था।
• भारत सरकार ने इस युद्ध को 'ऑपरेशन विजय' नाम दिया था।
• इस युद्ध के दौरान 527 सैनिकों ने अपने जीवन का बलिदान दिया।

मंगल ग्रह पर पानी की झील की खोज की गई

• मंगल ग्रह पर पहली बार विशाल भूमिगत झील का पता चला है, जाहिर है इससे वहां जीवन की उपस्थिति की संभावना पैदा हो गयी है।
• अमेरिकी जर्नल साइंस में प्रकाशित अध्ययन में अनुसंधानकर्ताओं ने कहा है कि मार्सियन हिम खंड के नीचे अवस्थित झील 20 किलोमीटर चौड़ी है।
• खास बात यह है कि यह मंगल ग्रह पर पाया गया अब तक का सबसे बड़ा जल निकाय है।

ट्रम्प और ईयू के बीच व्यापार तनाव को कम करने के लिए सहमति

• अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प और यूरोपीय आयोग के प्रमुख जीन-क्लाउड जुनेकर ने 25 जुलाई 2018 को दो प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के बीच ट्रेड व्यापार विवाद को कम करने की योजना पर सहमति व्यक्त की।
• हालांकि, इस विवरण पर संक्षिप्त समझौते का मतलब है कि वाशिंगटन ऑटोज पर टैरिफ लगाए जाने के खतरे के साथ पालन नहीं करेगा, जो प्रमुख जर्मन कार उद्योग को नुकसान पहुंचाएगा।

पावर्ड को चुना गया '2018 वर्ल्ड कप गोल ऑफ द टूर्नामेंट'

• विश्व चैंपियन फ्रांस के बेंजमिन पवार्ड द्वारा अर्जेंटीना के खिलाफ किए गए गोल को फीफा विश्व कप 2018 का बेस्ट गोल चुना गया है।
• फीफा विश्व कप 2018 में कुल 169 गोल हुए, लेकिन इनमें से एक गोल सबसे अलग रहा और इसे फीफा ने सर्वश्रेष्ठ गोल करार दिया है।
• फ्रांस के बेंजामिन पवार्ड ने अर्जेंटीना के खिलाफ जो गोल किया था उसके बूते उन्होंने ‘2018 वर्ल्ड कप गोल ऑफ द टूर्नामेंट’ पुरस्कार जीत लिया है।

बल्‍लेबाज पवन शाह ने 282 रन के जरिए अंडर-19 अंतर्राष्‍ट्रीय क्रिकेट में दूसरा सर्वोच्‍च व्‍यक्तिगत स्‍कोर बनाया

• हम्बनटोटा में श्रीलंका के साथ अंडर-19 क्रिकेट टेस्ट मैच में भारत के युवा बल्लेबाज पवन शाह ने 282 रन बनाये।
• यह अंडर-19 युवा टेस्ट मैच में दूसरा सबसे बड़ा व्यक्तिगत स्कोर है।
• इस पारी की मदद से भारतीय टीम ने अंतिम मैच के दूसरे दिन आठ विकेट पर 613 रन बनाकर पारी घोषित कर दी। जवाब में श्रीलंका ने दिन का खेल खत्म होने तक चार विकेट पर 140 रन बनाए।
• शाह ने तन्मय श्रीवास्तव का रिकॉर्ड तोड़ा, जिन्होंने 2006 में पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ पेशावर में 220 रन बनाए थे।

जॉन ग्रेगोरी : आईएसएल कोच ऑफ द इयर

• चेन्नईयन फुटबॉल क्लब के मुख्य कोच ग्रेगोरी को 25 जुलाई 2018 को भारतीय फुटबाल कोच संघ (एआईएफसी) ने आईएसएल कोच ऑफ द इयर चुना है।
• उन्हें एआईएफसी अवॉर्डस के पहले संस्करण में यह पुरस्कार दिया गया।
• ग्रेगोरी को इस वर्ष मार्च में चेन्नईयन एफसी को दूसरी बार इंडियन सुपर लीग (आईएसएल) का खिताब जिताने पर यह पुरस्कार दिया गया।
• गेगोरी पहली बार किसी भारतीय क्लब के कोच बने थे।
• ग्रेगोरी की देखरेख में चेन्नई की टीम ने इस साल बेंगलुरू एफसी को हराते हुए दूसरी बार आईएसएल खिताब पर कब्जा किया था।

किटकैट का 'चार-उंगली आकार वाला' ट्रेडमार्क नहीं

• यूरोपीय संघ के न्यायाधीशों ने फैसला दिया है कि किटकैट चॉकलेट बार के 'चार-उंगली वाला आकार' ट्रेडमार्क नहीं बन सकता है।
• आपको बता दें, कि यह खाद्य बहुराष्ट्रीय स्नैक्स हेतु यूरोपीय ट्रेडमार्क बनने के लिए 2002 से कोशिश कर रहा है।
• लेकिन 25 जुलाई को लक्ज़मबर्ग में यूरोपीय न्यायालय ने इसके खिलाफ शासन दिया।

India and Uganda sign four MoUs in various fields

• India and Uganda signed four MoUs in the areas of defence cooperation, visa exemption for official and diplomatic passport holders, cultural exchange programme and material testing laboratory.
• The agreements were inked following delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Kampala.
• The two leaders comprehensively reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations. India also announced two Lines of Credit worth nearly 200 million US dollars to Uganda in energy, infrastructure, agriculture and dairy sectors.
• India will also give vehicles, ambulances and cancer therapy machine to Uganda.
• During his Rwanda visit, the Prime Minister today attended the India-Rwanda Business forum in Kigali.

Centre asks states to appoint nodal officer to curb mob lynching

• Centre has asked states to appoint a nodal officer in each district to prevent the incidents of mob violence and lynching.
• The nodal officer should be of superintendent of police-level officer
• Other Major Reforms :
• It has also asked to set up a special task force to procure intelligence reports about the people who are likely to commit such crimes or who are involved in spreading hate speeches, provocative statements and fake news.
• Home Ministry said, the process of identification should be done within a period of three weeks.
• Home Ministry asked state governments to implement the directions of the Supreme Court in letter and spirit.
• The Ministry said, police should register FIR against persons who disseminate irresponsible and explosive messages and videos having content which is likely to incite mob violence and lynching of any kind.

• Victims of Acid Attack, autism, mental Illness will get quota in central government job in Madhya Pradesh.
• In case of direct instrument 4 percent job will be saved for the benchmark disability in Group A, B, C.
• Benchmark disability means a person with not less than 40 % of the Disability.
• Under new law all government offices will be asked to appoint ‘Grievance Redressal officer’ to look into the complaint.

Assam government to set up separate directorate for Divyangs

• The Assam government has decided to set up a separate directorate for the Divyangs.
• The Social Welfare department to give 1 thousand rupees per month to all Divyangs as stipend.
• The minister said that the new Anganwadi centres to be constructed for the benefit of the women and children.

UP Govt files its vision document for Taj Mahal before Supreme Court

• Uttar Pradesh government filed before Supreme Court the first draft report of its vision document on protection and preservation of Taj Mahal in Agra.
• State Government said the entire precinct will be declared no-plastic zone and all polluting industries in the region will be closed.
• Why Vision Document is presented ?
• The vision document was submitted after Apex court lashed out the state government on the 11th of this month for its apathy towards the 17th-century Mughal era monument.
• State government said the use of bottled water will be also prohibited in the Taj precinct and more tourism hubs will be created. It also calls for comprehensive traffic management plan to promote pedestrian movement in Taj heritage precinct.
• The apex court has been monitoring development in the area to protect the Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
• The ivory white marble mausoleum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dhanvir, Priya set meet records in National Youth Athletics Championships

• Punjab shot putter Dhanvir Singh and Kerala’s 400m hurdler J. Vishnu Priya set new records in the 15th National youth athletics championships which concluded at Vadodara, Gujarat.
• Dhanvir’s first throw, 19.66m, bettered Navtejdeep Singh’s seven-year-old meet record of 19.34m and he finished with a day’s best of 19.69m.
• Vishnu Priya was also a comfortable winner in the girls hurdles, clocking 1:02.52s and broke a three-year-old meet record.

Chou Tien-chen of Taiwan wins Singapore Badminton Open

• Taiwanese badminton star Chou Tien-chen stormed to a 21-13, 21-13 win over compatriot Hsu Jen-hao to clinch the Singapore Open men's singles title.
• Serving deep, cross-court smashes at high speeds, the world number seven easily claimed the first game.
• The 28-year-old went on to win easily at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, sealing victory in 43 minutes.
• In men's doubles, Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia cruised to a 21-13, 21-19 win over China's Ou Xuanyi and Ren Xiangyu.

World’s fastest man-made spinning object developed

• Scientists have developed the fastest man-made rotor in the world, which they believe will help them study quantum mechanics.
• At more than 60 billion revolutions per minute, this machine is more than 100,000 times faster than a high-speed dental drill.
• How it Works ?
• The team synthesised a tiny dumbbell from silica and levitated it in high vacuum using a laser. The laser can work in a straight line or in a circle – when it is linear, the dumbbell vibrates, and when it is circular, the dumbbell spins.
• A spinning dumbbell functions as a rotor, and a vibrating dumbbell functions like an instrument for measuring tiny forces and torques, known as a torsion balance.
• A nano dumbbell levitated by an optical tweezer in vacuum can vibrate or spin, depending on the polarization of the incoming laser.

India drops three ranks in AT Kearney FDI Confidence Index
o   India in 2018 has fallen out of the top 10 destinations for FDI in terms of its attractiveness, according to an AT Kearney report.
o   India ranks 11 in the 2018 AT Kearney FDI Confidence Index, down from 8 in 2017 and 9 in 2016.
o   Policies that have deterred investors — at least in the short term :
o   The 2017 nationwide goods and services tax, for example, has faced implementation challenges, and the 2016 demonetisation initiative disrupted business activity and weighed on economic growth.
o   The report highlighted several of the reforms — such as removing the Foreign Investment Promotion Board and liberalising FDI limits in key sectors — that have maintained India’s high rankings in terms of FDI attractiveness.

Pratyush Committee recommends Coal Index to determine value of coal blocks

• Major changes in the coal block auction system have been suggested by the high-powered committee set up last year to review the current process.
• The recommendations, submitted this month, rest on four tenets —
• ensuring transparency and fairness,
• equity,
• early development of coal blocks and
• simplicity of implementation of the recommendations.
• These suggestions coincide with the opening up of the coal sector for commercial mining.
• The proposed changes aim at introducing flexibility in the number of bidders, penalties for defaulting on milestones (and revoking bank guarantees), project execution, and relaxation to captive miners to sell some of the coal in the market.
• The panel has recommended developing a Coal Index for determining the value of blocks and a revenue-sharing model with the States.
• Currently, the valuation is on the basis of the notified price of Coal India Ltd.
• The committee has suggested scrapping the current practice of cancelling an auction if the number of bidders drop below three, saying that a single-bid should be accepted if biddings failed to find eligible bidders, provided the offered price was benchmarked to the reserve price.
• In the previous auctions, majority of the blocks could not be allocated as the number of eligible bidders was less than three.
• The number of milestones are now eight versus 20 earlier, with the panel suggesting that only a default in achieving critical milestones should attract penalty against the earlier penalty for each default.
• Shift from current system
• If accepted, the changes would mark a major shift in the current system which was put in place after the cancellation of 204 coal-block allocations and introducing a system of auctioning the mineral blocks.
• Triggering euphoria and intense competition since their introduction, the e-auctions failed to sustain interest after several blocks were taken at high prices.
• Even companies which bought the blocks found it cheaper to import coal to meet their requirements rather than developing the mines.

ताजमहलच्या संवर्धनासाठी उत्तरप्रदेश सरकारच्या योजनेचा आराखडा सर्वोच्च न्यायालयापुढे सादर

• ताजमहलच्या संवर्धनासाठी भविष्यात केल्या जाणार्‍या कृतींचा एक नियोजित आराखडा स्पष्ट करणारा दस्तऐवज उत्तरप्रदेश राज्य शासनाने सर्वोच्च न्यायालयापुढे सादर केला आहे.
• या स्मारकाचा परिसर प्लास्टिक विरहित क्षेत्र घोषित करणे आणि ताज ट्रॅपेझियम झोनमध्ये मोडणार्‍या प्रदूषणकारी उद्योग बंद पाडणे अश्या उपाययोजना प्रस्तावित आहेत. हा आराखडा स्कूल ऑफ प्लॅनिंग अँड आर्किटेक्चर संस्थेनी तयार केला.

प्रत्युष समितीकडून ‘कोळसा निर्देशांक’ विकसित करण्याची शिफारस

• प्रत्युष समितीने कोळसा खाणीचे मूल्य निर्धारित करण्यासाठी ‘कोळसा निर्देशांक’ (Coal Index) विकसित करण्याची शिफारस केलेली आहे.
• कोळसा खाणीबाबत लिलाव प्रक्रियेत प्रमुख बदल करण्याच्या दृष्टीने वर्तमान प्रक्रियेचा आढावा घेण्यासाठी तसेच प्रक्रियेत पारदर्शकता आणि निष्पक्षता, कोळसा खाणींचा प्रारंभिक विकास आणि अंमलबजावणीत सहजता चार नियमांवर आधारित शिफारशी करण्यासाठी 2017 साली प्रत्युष सिंग यांच्या नेतृत्वात एक उच्चस्तरीय समिती नेमण्यात आली होती.

• पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या युगांडा भेटीदरम्यान युगांडाचे राष्ट्राध्यक्ष योवेरी मुसेवेनी सोबत झालेल्या शिष्टमंडळ-स्तरीय चर्चेनंतर हे करार करण्यात आले आहे. शिवाय, भारताने उर्जा, पायाभूत सुविधा, कृषी व दुग्ध व्यवसायाच्या विकासासाठी युगांडाला सुमारे $200 दशलक्षच्या दोन पतमर्यादा (कर्जासाठी) घोषित केल्या.

तैवानचा चोउ तिएन-चेन: सिंगापूर ओपन बॅडमिंटन स्पर्धेचा विजेता

• 2018 सिंगापूर ओपन या बॅडमिंटन स्पर्धेच्या पुरुष एकेरी गटात तैवानचा चोउ तिएन-चेन ह्याने जेतेपद पटकावले आहे. स्पर्धेच्या अंतिम सामन्यात चोउ तिएन-चेनने तैवानच्याच ह्सु जेन-हाओचा पराभव केला.

• अमेरिकेच्या पर्ड्यू विद्यापीठामधील शास्त्रज्ञांनी जगातला सर्वात वेगवान मानवनिर्मित ‘रोटर’ (इलेक्ट्रिक मोटरमधील एक भाग) विकसित केला आहे. हा ‘रोटर’ मिनिटाला 60 अब्जवेळा फिरू शकण्यास सक्षम आहे. हे यंत्र दंतशास्त्रात वापरल्या जाणार्‍या उच्च गतीच्या डेन्टल ड्रिलपेक्षा 100,000 पट वेगवान आहे.

अॅसिड हल्ल्यांत बळी पडलेले आता ‘दिव्यांग’ श्रेणीत मोडणार: मध्यप्रदेश शासन

• मध्यप्रदेश राज्य शासनाने अॅसिड हल्ल्यात बळी पडलेल्यांना ‘दिव्यांग’ श्रेणीत गृहीत धरण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे. यामुळे आता अॅसिड हल्ल्यातली पीडित व्यक्ती दिव्यांग व्यक्ती सरकारच्या विविध योजनांचा लाभ घेण्यास पात्र असतील.
• ‘दिव्यांगत्व असलेल्या व्यक्तीचे हक्क अधिनियम-2016’ अंतर्गत चालवल्या जाणार्‍या सर्व योजनांचा लाभ घेण्यास आता अॅसिड हल्ल्याच्या समावेशासह 21 प्रकारचे दिव्यांगत्व (अपंगत्व) पात्र असतील (यापूर्वी 7 प्रकार होते).

आसाम राज्य शासन दिव्यांगांसाठी स्वतंत्र संचालनालय स्थापन करणार

• आसाम राज्य शासनाने दिव्यांगांसाठी स्वतंत्र संचालनालय स्थापन करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे.
• राज्य शासनाच्या सामाजिक कल्याण मंत्री प्रमिला राणी ब्रह्मा यांनी दिव्यांगांच्या कल्याणासाठी डिसेंबर-18 पर्यंत सुमारे 4500 पदांवर अश्या लोकांची नेमणूक केली जाणार आणि प्रत्येक दिव्यांग व्यक्तीला 1000 रुपये महिन्याला भत्ता दिला जाणार असल्याची घोषणा केली.
