 भारत-जापान संयुक्‍त सैन्‍य अभ्‍यास ‘धर्म गार्जियन -2018’

• भारत और जापान सैन्‍य सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रथम संयुक्‍त सैन्‍य अभ्‍यास ‘धर्म गार्जियन -2018’ का आयोजन करने के लिए पूरी तरह से तैयार हैं।
• 01 नवम्‍बर से 14 नवम्‍बर 2018 तक आयोजित किये जाने वाले इस सैन्‍य अभ्‍यास में भारतीय सेना और जापान ग्राउंड सेल्‍फ डिफेंस फोर्स भाग लेंगे।
• भारतीय दल का प्रतिनिधित्‍व 6/1 गोरखा रायफल्‍स और जापानी दल का प्रतिनिधित्‍व जापान ग्राउंड सेल्‍फ डिफेंस फोर्स की 32 इन्‍फैंट्री रेजीमेंट करेगी।
• इस 14 दिवसीय सैन्‍य अभ्‍यास के दौरान दोनों देशों के रक्षा बलों के बीच अंतर-परिचालन पर विशेष जोर दिया जाएगा।
• ‘धर्म गार्जियन-2018’ दोनों देशों के बीच रक्षा सहयोग सहित सामरिक संबंधों को सुदृढ़ करने की दिशा में एक और महत्‍वपूर्ण कदम है।

          यह होगा असर

• इस सैन्‍य अभ्‍यास से पारम्परिक समझ विकसित करने और एक दूसरे की सेनाओं के प्रति सम्‍मान भाव उत्‍पन्‍न करने में काफी मदद मिलेगी।
• इससे आतंकवाद से जुड़े वैश्विक घटनाक्रम पर करीबी नजर रखने में भी आसानी होगी।

यूपी और उत्तराखंड के पूर्व सीएम एनडी तिवारी का निधन

• उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री नारायण दत्त तिवारी का 18 अक्टूबर को 93 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया है।
• वह तीन बार उत्तर प्रदेश और एक बार उत्तराखंड के सीएम रह चुके हैं।
• इसके अलावा वे आंध्र प्रदेश के राज्यपाल और केंद्र में वित्त और विदेश मंत्री भी रह चुके हैं।
• 18 अक्टूबर ही एनडी तिवारी का जन्मदिन भी था। एनडी तिवारी का जन्म 18 अक्टूबर 1925 को हुआ था।
• वे इकलौते ऐसे शख्स थे, जो दो राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्री पद पर रह चुके हैं।

संगीतकार खय्याम ने लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट के लिए हृदयनाथ पुरस्कार जीता

• प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार 'मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम हाशमी' को लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया है। बता दें, कि मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम फिल्म इंडस्ट्री का जाना पहचाना नाम है।
• यह सम्‍मान हृदयेश ऑर्ट्स ओर से प्रख्यात संगीतकार हृदयनाथ मंगेशकर की 81वीं जयंती के अवसर पर 26 अक्‍टूबर को उनको दिया जाएगा।
• पुरस्‍कार के रूप में उन्‍हें एक लाख रुपये और स्‍मृति चिन्‍ह भेंट किया जाएगा।
• आपको बता दें कि, मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम हाशमी को तीन बार फिल्‍मफेयर अवॉर्ड मिला. 2011 में मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम हाशमी को पद्म भूषण से भी नवाजा जा चुका है।

• प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम से पहले यह पुरस्‍कार भारतरत्‍न लगा मंगेशकर, बाबासाहब पुरंदरे, आशा भोसले, अमिताभ बच्‍चन, सुलोचना लाटकर, पंडित जसराज, जावेद अख्‍तर, ऑस्‍कर विजेता संगीतकार ए.आर. रहमान आदि को हृदयनाथ मंगेशकार पुरस्कार से सम्‍मानित किया जा चुका है।

IRCTC का नया फीचर : आस्क दिशा

• इंडियन रेलवे कैटरिंग एंड टूरिज्म कॉर्पोरेशन (IRCTC) ने अपने यात्रियों की सहायता के लिए वेबसाइट पर नया फीचर 'Ask Disha' शुरू किया है।
• ये फीचर आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (एआई) पर बेस्ड होगा। ये एक चैटबॉट है, जहां रेलवे से जुड़े सभी सवालों के जवाब दिए जाएंगे।
• IRCTC ने Ask Disha चैटबॉट को बेंगलुरु की स्टार्टअप कंपनी CoRover के साथ मिलकर बनाया है। ये कंपनी आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस और मशीन लर्निंग पर काम करती है।
• इस फीचर की सुविधा यात्रियों को 24X7 मिलेगी। IRCTC का दावा है कि इस तरह का चैटबॉट किसी सरकारी वेबसाइट पर पहली बार इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है।
• Ask Disha के जरिए यूजर पीएनआर, अकाउंट लॉगिन, तत्काल टिकट, सीट उपलब्धता, लॉगिन का तरीका, कैटरिंग और ट्रेन से जुड़ी हर तरह की जानकारी ले सकते हैं।
• यह सर्विस फिलहाल अंग्रेजी भाषा में ही उपलब्ध है लेकिन आईआरसीटीसी का कहना है कि जल्द ही इसे और भी भाषाओं में शुरू किया जाएगा।

कुलगोड़ भारत में सबसे विकसित गांव है: सर्वेक्षण

• एक ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय के सर्वेक्षण के निष्कर्षों के मुताबिक, कर्नाटक में कुलगोड़ बेलगावी जिला देश का सबसे अच्छा और विकसित गांव है, लेकिन शीर्ष 10 में स्थित ग्राम पंचायतों में से एक तिहाई से अधिक आंध्र प्रदेश में हैं।
• ''अंत्योदय अभिसरण योजना'' के तहत 1.6 लाख से अधिक पंचायतों में ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय ने 3.5 लाख से अधिक गांवों का एक अंतर विश्लेषण किया है।
• सर्वे में अधिकारियों की एक टीम थी जिसने बुनियादी ढांचे, आर्थिक विकास और आजीविका, सिंचाई सुविधाओं, स्वास्थ्य, पोषण और स्वच्छता, महिलाओं के सशक्तिकरण और वित्तीय समावेशन से संबंधित मानकों का उपयोग करके गांव स्तर की सुविधाओं का सर्वेक्षण किया और स्कोर किया।
• बता दें, अक्टूबर 2017 में, 50,000 ग्राम पंचायतों में शुरुआती आधारभूत सर्वेक्षण किया गया था, पर इस साल नवंबर के अंत तक देश के 2.5 लाख पंचायतों को कवर करने की उम्मीद है। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि रैंकिंग को अपडेट किया जाएगा क्योंकि अधिक पंचायत शामिल हैं।

संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने खुद को यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन से बाहर किया

• व्हाइट हाउस के अधिकारियों ने 17 अक्टूबर को कहा कि अमेरिका स्विट्ज़रलैंड स्थित संगठन ''यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन'' (यूपीयू) छोड़ने की प्रक्रिया शुरू करेगा
• इसके पीछे का कारण बताते हुए व्हाइट हाउस ने कहा कि यूपीयू ने विदेशी डाक सेवाओं को अमेरिका में सस्ते शिपमेंट का लाभ उठाने के लिए मदद की, इससे अमेरिकी डाक सेवा को नुकसान पहुंच रहा है।
• बता दें, ट्रम्प ने यूनेस्को और संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार परिषद से अमेरिका को बाहर कर लिया है और फिलीस्तीनी शरणार्थियों के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र एजेंसी के लिए अमेरिकी वित्त पोषण को भी बंद कर दिया है।

          क्या है ये यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन

• यूनिवर्सल पोस्टल यूनियन, 1874 की बर्न संधि द्वारा स्थापित, संयुक्त राष्ट्र (संयुक्त राष्ट्र) की एक विशेष एजेंसी है जो विश्वव्यापी डाक प्रणाली के अलावा सदस्य देशों के बीच डाक नीतियों का समन्वय करती है।
• यूपीयू की आधिकारिक भाषा फ्रेंच है और अंग्रेजी को 1994 में एक कार्यकारी भाषा के रूप में जोड़ा गया था।

भारत का पहला क्रिप्टोकरेंसी एटीएम

• बेंगलुरु के केम्प फोर्ट मॉल में वर्चुअल करेंसी एक्सचेंज यूनोकॉइन द्वारा क्रिप्टोकरेंसी के लिए धन जमा करने और निकालने के लिए एक एटीएम स्थापित किया गया है।
• उपयोगकर्ता अपने पंजीकृत नंबरों पर प्राप्त ओटीपी का उपयोग करके बिटकॉइन और एथेरियम जैसी मुद्राओं को खरीदने के लिए धन जमा कर सकते हैं।
• इस ATM के माध्यम से 1000 रुपये से लेकर 10000 रुपये तक की निकाली या जमा की जा सकती है।

          जाने क्या है क्रिप्टोकरेंसी

• यह एक तरह की डिजिटल मुद्रा है और यह भौतिक रूप से उपलब्ध नहीं होती है इसे आप आभासी मुद्रा समझ सकते हैं।
• इसका उपयोग लेनदेन के लिए किया जाता है और इसके लिए ब्लॉकचेन टेक्नोलॉजी का उपयोग किया जाता है।

DHARMA GUARDIAN-2018: First-ever India-Japan joint military exercise

• India and Japan will hold first ever joint military exercise Dharma Guardian 2018 in Mizoram from 1 to 14 November.
• Indian Army and Japan Ground Self Defence Force will jointly conduct this exercise.
• The Indian contingent will be represented by 6/1 Gorkha Rifles while the Japanese contingent will be represented by 32 Infantry Regiment of the Japanese Ground Self Defence Force.

  • The projects Japan support include the Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Chennai metro projects, Dedicated Freight Corridors, Ganga and Yamuna action plans, and development of IIT Hyderabad. 
  • India and Japan have also proposed Asia Africa Growth Corridor (AAGC) to counter China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR).
  • The AAGC is an attempt to create a “free and open Indo-Pacific region” by rediscovering ancient sea-routes and creating new sea corridors that will link the African continent with India and countries in South-Asia and South-East Asia.

Former UP, Uttarakhand CM ND Tiwari passes away

• Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister N D Tiwari passed away at the age of 93. 
• He joined the Congress in 1963 and was the only Indian politician to have served as chief minister of two states, Uttar Pradesh and later Uttarakhand.

US to merge Jerusalem consulate general with new embassy

• The United States will merge the U.S. Consulate General, which serves Palestinians, with its new embassy in Israel into a single diplomatic mission in Jerusalem.

• National Award winning music director Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi, famous as 'Khayyam', has been named for this year's Hridaynath Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Ask Disha: IRCTC launches AI chatbot to answer user queries

• The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) recently launched a Chatbot to help its users answer various queries,
• The AI chatbot-- Ask Disha- is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and it is aimed at facilitating accessibility by answering users' queries pertaining to various services offered by IRCTC.

  • The first-of-its-kind initiative by IRCTC is live and it is already available on the bottom right corner of IRCTC's revamped website and it will soon be available on IRCTC's Android app.
  • AI chatbot will also be voice enabled and it will support several regional languages in the near future.
  • The Ask Disha chatbot has jointly been developed by IRCTC and CoRover Private Limited, which is a Bengaluru-based startup that develops AI and machine learning based chatbots pertaining to travel and tourism.

• Kulgod has got the title of the most developed village in the country under the central government's Antyoday scheme.

United States withdraws from Universal Postal Union

• The US on October 17 announced its intent to withdraw from the little-known UN Universal Postal Union (UPU).
• According to US government; current system that governs international postal rates allows countries like China to provide subsidies to their postal companies to ship products to the US at cheaper rates thus putting American firms at a disadvantage.

  Why this move?

  • It was then US President Ronald Reagan who had first expressed concern in 1986 where countries like China and Singapore take advantage of shipping their products at cheaper rate.
  • A change could benefit US merchants and shippers, including Amazon.com Inc, which have called on US officials for years to address foreign postal services’ access to low rates. Amazon declined to comment.

  • US has already withdrawn from UNESCO, UN Human Rights Council and UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees.

World population set to grow another 2.2 billion by 2050: UN survey

• According to United Nations Population Fund’s report, the world’s population is set to grow 2.2 billion by 2050.

  Highlights of the report

  • More than half of that growth 1.3 billion is likely to be in sub-Saharan Africa, where women’s rights are hampered by limited access to healthcare and education.
  • UN Population Fund is headquartered in New York, USA.
  • According to UNFPA’s State of World Population 2018, there are 43 countries where women have more than four or more children, and 38 of these are in Africa.
  • Conflict prone areas such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and Yemen have high fertility rates than the overall average of 2.5 children per women.
  • France and Norway had seen their birth rates pick up after taking such steps in recent decades.

अमेरिकेनी नव्या वाणिज्य दूतावासात जेरूसलेममधील वाणिज्य दूतावास विलीन केले

• अमेरिकेने त्याच्या नव्या वाणिज्य दूतावासात जेरुसलेममधील त्याचे वाणिज्य दूतावास विलीन करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे. जेरुसलेममधील अमेरिकेचे वाणिज्य दूतावास पॅलेस्टिनी व्यवहाराशी संबंधित आहे.

अमेरिकेनी युनिव्हर्सल पोस्टल युनियनमधून आपली सदस्यता मागे घेतली

• अमेरिकेनी संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघाच्या युनिव्हर्सल पोस्टल युनियन (UPU) या संघामधून आपली सदस्यता मागे घेण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे.
• युनिव्हर्सल पोस्टल युनियन (UPU) आंतरराष्ट्रीय टपाल सेवेचे दर ठरविते. हे दर विकसीत देशांच्या तुलनेत विकसनशील देशांसाठी कमी आहेत. त्यामुळे दराचा चीन सारख्या विकसनशील देशांना अधिक लाभ मिळतो आहे, असे अमेरिकेनी म्हटले आहे.
• 1874 साली स्वित्झर्लंडची राजधानी बर्न येथे स्थापित करण्यात आलेली ‘युनिव्हर्सल पोस्टल युनियन (UPU)’ ही संघटना 1948 साली संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघाची विशेष संस्था बनली. बिशार ए. हुसैन हे UPUचे वर्तमान महासंचालक आहेत.

2050 सालापर्यंत जागतिक लोकसंख्या 2.2 अब्जने वाढणार: UN

• संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघ लोकसंख्या कोषने (UNFPA) ‘स्टेट ऑफ वर्ल्ड पॉप्युलेशन 2018’ या शीर्षकाखाली प्रसिद्ध केलेल्या अहवालानुसार, जागतिक पातळीवर जोडप्यांचा लहान कुटुंबांकडे कल अधिक आहे. अधिकाधीक लोक त्यांच्या क्षमतेनुसार आणि मुलांना चांगले जीवन देण्याकरिता मुले इच्छित आहेत.
• अहवालानुसार –
  
  • 43 देशांमध्ये एका महिलेला 4 पेक्षा जास्त मुले आहेत आणि त्यापैकी 38 देश आफ्रिकेत आहेत.
  • हा कल जर याप्रमाणेच असल्यास संघटनेच्या अंदाजानुसार, जागतिक लोकसंख्येत आफ्रिकेचा वाटा सन 2017 मधील 17% वरून सन 2050 पर्यंत 26% पर्यंत वाढणार.
  • अफगाणिस्तान, इराक, पॅलेस्टाईन, तिमोर-लेस्ते आणि येमेनमध्ये अधिक प्रजनन दर आहे, ज्यानुसार दर महिलेला सरासरी 2.5 मुले आहेत.
  • 179 देशांच्या सरकारांकडून मान्यता मिळालेल्या महत्त्वपूर्ण अश्या ‘आंतरराष्ट्रीय लोकसंख्या आणि विकास परिषद’ यांच्या स्थापनेपासून आतापर्यंतच्या सुमारे 25 वर्षांमध्ये लोकांच्या प्रजनन हक्कांमध्ये जगभरात मोठ्या प्रमाणात सुधारणा झालेली आहे.

उत्तरप्रदेश, उत्तराखंडचे माजी मुख्यमंत्री एन. डी. तिवारी यांचे निधन

• उत्तरप्रदेश आणि उत्तराखंड राज्याचे माजी मुख्यमंत्री राहिलेले माजी मुख्यमंत्री काँग्रेसचे ज्येष्ठ नेते नारायण दत्त तिवारी यांचे दिनांक 18 ऑक्टोबर 2018 रोजी निधन झाले आहे. ते 93 वर्षांचे होते.
• दिनांक 18 ऑक्टोबर 1925 रोजी जन्मलेले एन. डी. तिवारी भारताच्या स्वातंत्र्यानंतर उत्तरप्रदेशात पहिल्या विधानसभा निवडणुकीत नैनीताल मतदारसंघातून निवडून आले. तिवारी यांनी तीनवेळा उत्तरप्रदेशाचे मुख्यमंत्रिपद भूषविले. ते उत्तराखंडचे पहिले मुख्यमंत्री होते. उत्तरप्रदेशातून वेगळे होऊन दिनांक 9 नोव्हेंबर 2000 रोजी उत्तराखंड हे नवे राज्य उदयास आले. त्यानंतर मार्च 2002 ते मार्च 2007 यादरम्यान तिवारी उत्तराखंडचे मुख्यमंत्री होते.

संगीतकार मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम यांना हृदयनाथ जीवनगौरव पुरस्कार

• ज्येष्ठ संगीतकार मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम हाशमी यांना या वर्षीचा हृदयनाथ जीवनगौरव पुरस्कार जाहीर झाला आहे. 26 ऑक्टोबरला एका समारंभात हा पुरस्कार दिला जाणार आहे.
• 1943 साली 'खय्याम' म्हणून लोकप्रिय असलेले ज्येष्ठ संगीत दिग्दर्शक मोहम्मद जहूर खय्याम हाशमी यांचे हिंदी चित्रपट संगीतात सुवर्णयुग साकारण्यात त्यांचे मोलाचे योगदान आहे.
• पं. हृदयनाथ मंगेशकर यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त हृदयेश आर्ट्स या संस्थेतर्फे दरवर्षी हृदयनाथ पुरस्कार दिला जातो. एक लक्ष रुपये आणि सन्मानचिन्ह असे या पुरस्काराचे स्वरूप आहे.
