भारत-थाईलैंड संयुक्त अभ्यास 'मैत्री 2018' की समाप्ति

• भारतीय सेना और रॉयल थाई सेना के बीच संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास मैत्री 2018 थाईलैंड में 6 से 19 अगस्त 2018 तक आयोजित किया गया था।
• आतंकवाद से निपटने के लिए दोनों देशों की सेनाओं के बीच पारस्परिक समझ विकसित करने में इसका योगदान रहा।
• उद्देश्य : इस संयुक्त अभ्यास का उद्देश्य आतंकवाद विरोधी ऑपरेशन में रणनीतिक व तकनीकी कुशलता में वृद्धि करना था।

संयुक्त अभ्यास 'मैत्री 2018

• यह मुख्य रूप से आतंकवादी अभियानों के खिलाफ तकनीकी कौशल को मजबूत करने पर आधारित था।
• इसका उद्घाटन समारोह संगठन के परिचित होने और दोनों सेनाओं के हथियारों और उपकरणों के प्रदर्शन के साथ शुरू किया गया था।
• इस अभ्यास ने दोनों देशों की ताकतों के बीच अंतःक्रियाशीलता बढ़ाने पर जोर दिया, जिसे किसी संयुक्त अभियान की सफलता के लिए महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है।

एशियन गेम्स में भारत की झोली में आया पहला गोल्ड

• भारतीय रेसलर बजरंग पूनिया ने 18वें एशियाई खेलों में भारत को पहला गोल्ड मेडल दिलवाया। ये मेडल पूनिया ने जापान के रेसलर ताकातिनी दायची को 11-8 हराकर जीता।
• बजरंग ने पुरुष वर्ग के 65 किलोग्राम भारवर्ग फ्रीस्टाइल स्पर्धा में ये मेडल जीता।
• इससे पहले पूनिया ने सेमीफाइनल मुकाबले में मंगोलिया के बाटमगनाई बैटचुलुन को 10-0 से मात दी थी।
• आपको बता दें कि 2014 में इंचियोन में खेले गए एशियाई खेलों में बजरंग ने रजत पदक जीता था।

स्मार्ट एंटी एयरफील्ड हथियार का सफल परीक्षण

• स्वदेशी डिजाइन और विकसित बम 'स्मार्ट एंटी एयरफील्ड हथियार' (एसएएडब्ल्यू) और एंटी-टैंक मिसाइल 'हेलीना' का राजस्थान में सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया गया।
• एसएएडब्ल्यू यानी Smart Anti Airfield Weapon का 19 अगस्त को चन्दन रेंज में परीक्षण किया गया, यह उच्च परिशुद्धता वाले लक्ष्यों को नष्ट करने में सक्षम है।
• यह हथियार परिशुद्धता नेविगेशन का उपयोग करके विभिन्न प्रकार के जमीनी लक्ष्यों को नष्ट करने में सक्षम है।
• 16-18 अगस्त के दौरान विभिन्न स्थितियों में कुल तीन परीक्षण किए गए थे। सभी परीक्षण सफल रहे और इन्होंने अपने लक्ष्य को हासिल कर लिया।
• जबकि हेलीना मिसाइल का परीक्षण सेना हेलीकॉप्टर की मदद से पोखरण रेंज में किया गया।
• बता दें, टेलीमीटर स्टेशनों, ट्रैकिंग सिस्टम और हेलीकॉप्टरों द्वारा सभी मानकों पर नजर रखी गई थी।

8 फरवरी 2019 से 9 बजे के बाद कोई एटीएम नहीं भरे जाएंगे

• गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी एक नए निर्देश के मुताबिक, 8 फरवरी 2019 से शहरों में 9 बजे के बाद और ग्रामीण इलाकों में 6 बजे के बाद से एटीएम में नकद नहीं भरे जाएंगे।
• नक्सल प्रभावित इलाकों में शाम 4 बजे के बाद एटीएम में कैश की सप्लाई नहीं की जाएगी।
• अगर कोई प्राइवेट एजेंसी बैंकों से कैश इकट्ठा करती है, तो उसे ये काम दिन के पहले हिस्से यानी 12 बजे के पहले करना होगा।
• बता दें, कैश सप्लाई वैन पर होने वाले हमलों और कैश लूटे जाने की घटनाओं के मद्देनजर यह निर्देश जारी किए हैं।
• गृह मंत्रालय ने कहा कि कैश वैन के साथ 2 सशस्त्र सुरक्षाकर्मी जरूर रहेंगे। ये व्यवस्था 8 फरवरी 2019 से लागू होगी।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ऑपरेशन ब्लू स्टार में हिस्सा लेने वाले अधिकारी का सम्मान बहाल किया

• सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सेना के एक पूर्व अधिकारी का सम्मान बहाल किया है, जो 1984 में ऑपरेशन ब्लू स्टार का नेतृत्व करने वाले अधिकारियों में शामिल थे।
• कोर्ट ने उन्हें भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों से बरी करने और सेवानिवृत्ति के पश्चात लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल का रैंक दिए जाने के फैसले को बरकरार रखा।
• शीर्ष अदालत ने मेजर (जोकि अब सेवानिवृत्त हो चुके हैं) कुंवर अंबरेश्वर सिंह को स्वर्ण मंदिर परिसर से सिख आतंकियों का सफाया करने के लिए चलाए गए अभियान के दौरान बरामद कुछ इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वस्तुओं को अपने पास रखने के आरोपों में सुनाई गई सजा को निरस्त करने के सशस्त्र बल अधिकरण के फैसले को बरकरार रखा।

इक्वाडोर ने वेनेज़ुएला प्रवासियों के लिए प्रवेश नियमों को कड़ा किया

• अपने देश के आर्थिक और राजनीतिक संकट के कारण भागने वाले हजारों वेनेज़ुएला के लोग कोलंबिया से इक्वाडोर में लगातार प्रवेश कर रहे हैं।
• बता दें, वेनेजुएला को उच्च मुद्रास्फीति और खाद्य और दवाओं की कमी का वर्षों से सामना करना पड़ा है।
• आधिकारिक अनुमानों के अनुसार, पिछले 15 महीनों में एक मिलियन से अधिक वेनेज़ुएला प्रवासियों ने कोलम्बिया में प्रवेश किया है और हर दिन इक्वाडोर की सीमा पर 4,000 से अधिक लोग पहुंच रहे हैं। इनमे से बहुत लोगों के पास पासपोर्ट नहीं है।
• इस स्थितियों को देखते हुए, इक्वाडोर ने वेनेजुएला प्रवासियों को पासपोर्ट के बिना देश में प्रवेश करने के लिए नए नियम बनाए हैं।

मिशेल जॉनसन क्रिकेट से सभी प्रारूप से संन्यास लिया

• ऑस्ट्रेलिया के पूर्व तेज गेंदबाज मिचेल जॉनसन ने क्रिकेट के सभी प्रारूप से संन्यास की घोषणा कर दी है।
• बता दें, पिछले महीने ही 37 साल के इस गेंदबाज ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया की टी-20 लीग बिग बैश से संन्यास लिया था।

• तंबाकू नियंत्रण को लेकर देश की राजधानी दिल्ली में सर्वश्रेष्ठ कार्य करने पर स्वास्थ्य विभाग के अतिरिक्त निदेशक डॉ. एस.के अरोड़ा को सम्मानित किया गया है।
• उन्हें विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) के भारत प्रभारी हेंक बेकेडम ने 'वर्ल्ड नो टोबैको डे 2018' अवार्ड से नवाजा।
• डॉ. अरोड़ा दक्षिण एशिया के 11 देशों में तंबाकू नियंत्रण के लिए बेहतरीन कार्य के लिए इस सम्मान को पाने वाले इस वर्ष एक मात्र भारतीय हैं।

Indo -Thailand Joint Exercise Maitree 2018 concludes

• Exercise Maitree 2018, a two-week joint military exercise between Indian Army and Royal Thai army concluded was concluded on Aug 19.
• The exercise was started on 6 August 2018 in Thailand.
• Importance:
  
  • The Maitree series of bilateral exercises has been one of the major defence cooperation initiatives between India and Thailand.
  • It is an annual event.
  • In 2017, it was held in Himachal Pradesh.

Bajrang Punia wins India’s first Gold at Asian Games 2018

• Bajrang Punia claimed India’s first gold medal on the first day of the Asian Games 2018.
• He beat Japan’s Daichi Takatani 11-8 in the final of Men’s Freestyle 65 kg category.
• It came as a big relief for Indian wrestling after Sushil Kumar’s s early exit.
• He had won three consecutive gold medals – Commonwealth Games (Gold Coast), Tbilisi Grand Prix (Georgia) and Yasar Dogu International (Istanbul).
• Asian Games 2018 is currently being held in Indonesia.

Successful Flight Tests of Smart Anti Airfield Weapon

• The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully tested indigenously developed light weight glide bomb Smart Anti Airfield Weapon (SAAW).
• Total of three tests with eighth round of developmental trails with different release conditions were conducted during 16 to 18 August 2018.
• SAAW:
  
  • SAAW project is India’s first fully indigenous anti-airfield weapon project sanctioned by Government in September 2013.
  • It was indigenously developed by state-run DRDO in collaboration with IAF and the Research Centre Imarat (RCI).
  • It is a long-range lightweight high precision-guided anti-airfield weapon.
  • It is 120 kg smart weapon capable of engaging ground targets with high precision up to range of 100 km.
  • It is designed for deep penetration with high degree of precision and is armed with high-explosive warhead, which is usually very difficult to achieve with simple gravity bombs.
  • It can be integrated into varied types of multi role fighter jets of IAF such as MiG, Sukhoi Su-30 and ground attack SEPECAT Jaguar.

Successful Flight Test of ATGM ‘HELINA’

• Indigenously developed helicopter launched anti-tank guided missile HELINA has been successfully flight tested from Army helicopter in the ranges of Pokhran.
• HELINA:
  
  • HELINA is helicopter launched version known of NAG ATGM, designed and developed indigenously for Indian Army under integrated guided missile development programme.
  • It is manufactured by India’s sole missile producer, state-owned Bharat Dynamics Limited.
  • HELINA is one of the most advanced Anti-Tank Weapons in the world. It works on “fire and forget” principle and operates in Lock on Before Launch Mode.
  • It has operational range of 7-10km.

No ATM to be replenished with cash after 9 pm from 2018

• No ATM will be replenished with cash after 9 pm in cities and 6 pm in rural areas as per the new directive of Home Ministry.
• The deadline for putting money in the ATMs located in Naxal-hit areas is 4 pm.
• The new Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) would come into effect from February 8, 2019 in view of the spurt in incidents of attacks on cash vans, cash vaults, ATM frauds and other internal frauds leading to increased sense of insecurity.
• Why these Security Measures:
  
  • There are over 8,000 privately owned cash vans plying across the country, operated by non-bank private agencies, and they handle over Rs 15,000 crore daily on behalf of banks.
  • Every cash transportation shall be carried out only in secured cash vans fitted with GPS tracking device and it must be ensured that no cash van carries cash of more than Rs 5 crore per trip.
  • The cash van shall be provided with a small CCTV system with at least five days recording facility and three cameras installed in front, rear and inside of the cabin.
  • A security alarm with GSM based auto-dialer shall be provided with a motorised siren.

SC restores honour of Army veteran who led Operation Blue Star

• The Supreme Court has restored the honour of an Army veteran Kunwar Ambreshwar Singh  who was among the officers who led the Operation Blue Star in 1984
• The SC upheld a decision to exonerate him of charges of alleged misconduct and award him a rank of Lieutenant Colonel post-retirement.

  • Singh was commissioned in the Army in 1967.
  • As a Major in the 26 Madras Regiment in June 1984, he was posted at Jalandhar as part of the 38 Infantry Brigade and 15 Infantry Division.
  • It was then that he was assigned the task to flush out Sikh extremists from the temple complex in Amritsar.
• What is Operation Blue Star?
  
  • Under the orders of the then prime minister, Indira Gandhi the Indian military stormed into the premises of the Golden Temple in Amritsar to drive out the Sikh extremist religious leader, Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his armed followers.
  • Bhindranwale wanted the Indian government to pass the Anandpur Resolution, and thereby agree to the formation of a separate state of Khalistan for Sikhs.
  • Since 1982, the radical leader of Sikhism had managed to gain enough support for his cause and by mid-1983 had set up a base inside the Golden Temple complex, with ammunition and his followers.
  • The Operation Blue Star was launched between June 1 and June 6, 1984 with the aim of getting rid of Bhindranwale and his demands.
  • The Indian Army launched the offensive on the night of June 2, and on June 3 a curfew was imposed on the state of Punjab, and all lines of communication and travel were stopped. 
  • The operation resulted in the death of Bhindranwale and a high casualty figure among the army, the civilians and the militants. 
  • Few months post-Operation Blue Star, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards, followed by severe anti-Sikh riots in Delhi.

Ecuador tightens entry rules for Venezuelan migrants

• Ecuador has brought in new rules to stop Venezuelan migrants entering the country without a passport, leaving many stranded in neighbouring Colombia.
• Thousands of Venezuelans fleeing their country's economic and political crisis have been crossing into Ecuador from Colombia using only identity cards.
• Most are heading south to join family members in Peru and Chile.

  • More than a million Venezuelan migrants have entered Colombia in the past 15 months, according to official estimates, and more than 4,000 have been arriving at Ecuador's border every day.
  • Other Neighbouring countries
  • Peru's government has announced that passport requirements for Venezuelans will begin on 25 August.
  • Brazil, which neighbours Venezuela, has also expressed concerns. It temporarily closed the border earlier this month.
• Why are people fleeing Venezuela?
  
  • Venezuela is suffering from the highest inflation in the world, with severe shortages of basic food items and medicines.
  • Many people there report going hungry as they struggle to feed themselves, and have decided to leave the country in search of better economic conditions.
  • The country is also in the midst of a political crisis, with Venezuela's opposition blaming the policies of the ruling Socialist Party on the struggling oil-rich economy.
  • Despite opposition efforts to remove President Nicolás Maduro from office, he was re-elected in May's poll.

• Former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has confirmed his retirement from all format of cricket.

• Delhi government's additional director of health, SK Arora was awarded with the prestigious WHO World No Tobacco Day 2017 Award for his extraordinary contribution towards tobacco control.
• Every year, the World Health Organization recognizes individuals or organisations alike in each of the six WHO regions for their accomplishments in the area of tobacco control.

  • The National Health Policy 2017 of the Government of India has set targets of relative reduction in tobacco prevalence by:15 per cent by 2020, and 30 per cent by 2025. 
• Delhi’s Achievement:
  
  • Delhi has already achieved these targets before 2017.
  • Tobacco prevalence in Delhi has come down by 6.5 per cent in the past six years which is more than the rest of India average figures.
  • According to Global Adult Tobacco Survey-2 (GATS 2, 2016-17), the prevalence of tobacco use has reduced by 27 per cent in Delhi as compared to 17 per cent for the rest of India average.

आता रात्री 9 नंतर कोणत्याही ATM मध्ये रोख रक्कम भरली जाणार नाही

• भारत सरकारच्या गृह मंत्रालयाकडून ऑटोमेटेड टेलर मशीन (ATM) संबंधित नवीन नियमावलीचा आदेश काढण्यात आला आहे. त्यानुसार,
  
  • शहरांमध्ये रात्री 9 वाजेनंतर ATM यंत्रामध्ये रोख रक्कम भरली जाणार नाही. कॅश व्हॅनच्या एका फेरीमध्ये 5 कोटी रूपयांमध्ये अधिक रकमेचा समावेश केला जाणार नाही.
  • ग्रामीण विभागामध्ये संध्याकाळी 6 वाजेनंतर कोणत्याही ATM मध्ये रोख रक्कम भरली जाणार नाही. ATM मध्ये रोख रक्कम भरण्यसाठी आदल्या दिवशी किंवा दिवसाच्या सुरुवातीलाच बँकेतून पैसे गोळा करण्यात येतील.
  • कॅश वाहतूक संबंधित सर्व कर्मचाऱ्यांची पार्श्वभूमी तपासण्यासाठी त्यांच्या आधार कार्डाची पडताळणी केली जाईल.
  • सर्व कॅश व्हॅनमध्ये GSM (ग्लोबल सिस्टम फॉर मोबाइल कम्युनिकेशन) यावर आधारित स्वयंचलित डायलरसोबतच सिक्युरिटी अलार्म आणि मोटाराईज्ड सायरन लावले जातील. 
  • हल्ला, गुन्हेगारांचा पाठलाग करणे,  हत्यारांचा वापर कसा करायचा तसेच कठिण परिस्थितीमध्ये कॅश व्हॅनला सुरक्षित प्रकारे कसे बाहेर काढायचे, हे सर्व प्रशिक्षण कर्मचाऱ्यांना दिले जाणार आहे.

• नवीन दिशानिर्देश 8 फेब्रुवारी 2019 पासून अंमलात येतील.

सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने ऑपरेशन ब्ल्यू स्टारशी संबंधित लष्करी अधिकार्‍याचा सन्मान परत मिळवून दिला

• सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने 1984 साली ‘ऑपरेशन ब्ल्यू स्टार’चे नेतृत्त्व करणार्‍या लष्करी अधिकार्‍यांपैकी एक असलेल्या जेष्ठाचा सन्मान परत मिळवून दिला आहे.
• न्यायालयाने मेजर (आता निवृत्त) कुंवर अम्बरेश्वर सिंग यांच्यावरचा गैरवर्तन केल्याचा आरोप चुकीचा ठरवत त्यांना सेवानिवृत्तीनंतरचा लेफ्टनंट कर्नल पदाचा दर्जा परत एकदा मिळवून दिला आहे. याचिकाकर्त्याचे मोहिमेदरम्यान कमांडिंग ऑफिसर असलेल्या लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल पन्निकार यांच्या चुकीच्या निर्णयाचे कुंवर अम्बरेश्वर सिंग नाहक बळी ठरले.
• 3 ते 6 जून 1984 या काळात भारतीय लष्कराने ‘ऑपरेशन ब्लू स्टार’ ही मोहीम चालवत पंजाबच्या अमृतसरमधील सुवर्णमंदीरात शीख दहशतवादी आणि त्यांच्या दहशतवादी कारवायांचा बिमोड केला. सुवर्णमंदीरात शीख अतिरेक्यांनी मोठ्या प्रमाणावर शस्त्रास्त्रे जमवली होती व हे मंदीर दहशतवाद्यांचे प्रमुख तळ बनले होते. त्यामुळे तत्कालिन पंतप्रधान इंदिरा गांधी यांनी कारवाईचे आदेश दिले.

इक्वेडोरने व्हेनेझुएलाकडून होणार्‍या स्थलांतरितांच्या प्रवेशासंदर्भात नियम कडक केलेत

• इक्वाडोरने देशात विना पारपत्र (पासपोर्ट) प्रविष्ट होणार्‍या व्हेनेझुएलाच्या नागरिकांचे स्थलांतरण थांबविण्यासाठी नवीन नियमांची घोषणा केली आहे.
• व्हेनेझुएला बर्‍याच वर्षांपासून अत्याधिक महागाई (hyperinflation), आर्थिक आणि राजकीय संकटाला तोंड देत आहे आणि देशात अन्न आणि औषधांचा तुटवडा पडलेला आहे. अश्या परिस्थितीत हजारो लोकांनी देश सोडण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आणि केवळ ओळखपत्राच्या आधारे कोलंबियाहून इक्वाडोरमध्ये प्रवेश करीत आहेत.

• जकार्ता (इंडोनेशिया) येथे सुरु असलेल्या ‘आशियाई खेळ 2018’ मध्ये पुरुषांच्या कुस्तीत 65 किलो गटात भारताच्या बजरंग पुनियाने देशाला पहिले सुवर्णपदक मिळवून दिले. पुनियाने अंतिम लढतीत जपानच्या दाईची ताकातानीचा पराभव केला आहे.
• आशियाई खेळ (किंवा एशियाड) ही दर चार वर्षांनी आशियामधील देशांदरम्यान आयोजित केली जाणारी एक बहु-क्रिडा स्पर्धा आहे. ह्या स्पर्धेचे आयोजन आशिया ऑलंपिक समिती करते. सर्वप्रथम आशियाई खेळांचे आयोजन नवी दिल्ली (भारत) येथे 1951 साली केले गेले.

ऑस्ट्रेलियाचा मिशेल जॉन्सन क्रिकेटच्या सर्व प्रकारातून निवृत्त

• ऑस्ट्रेलियाचा माजी वेगवान गोलंदाज मिशेल जॉन्सनने क्रिकेटच्या सर्व प्रकारातून आपली निवृत्ती घोषित केली आहे.
• 2015 साली जॉन्सनने आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमधून निवृत्ती जाहीर केली होती. जॉन्सनने त्याच्या कारकि‍र्दीत 73 कसोटी सामन्यांमध्ये 313 बळी घेतले असून फलंदाजीत त्याने एक शतक आणि 11 अर्धशतके नोंदवलेली आहेत. एकदिवसीय क्रिकेटमध्ये त्याने 239 बळी मिळविले आहेत.

पुरस्कार

एस. के. अरोरा: ‘WHO वर्ल्ड नो टोबॅको डे 2018’ पुरस्काराचे विजेता

• दिल्ली सरकारच्या आरोग्य विभागाचे अतिरिक्त संचालक एस. के. अरोरा यांना तंबाखूच्या नियंत्रणासाठी दिलेल्या असामान्य योगदानासाठी ‘WHO वर्ल्ड नो टोबॅको डे 2018’ पुरस्कार प्रदान करण्यात आला आहे.
• गेल्या सहा वर्षांत दिल्लीमध्ये तंबाखूच्या चलनात 6.5% घट झाली, जे राष्ट्रीय सरासरीपेक्षा अधिक आहे. भारत सरकारच्या ‘राष्ट्रीय आरोग्य धोरण 2017’मधून 2020 सालापर्यंत तंबाखूच्या चलनात 15% घट आणि 2025 सालापर्यंत 30% घट करण्याचे लक्ष्य निर्धारित केले गेले आहे. 2017 सालच्या आधीच दिल्लीने हे लक्ष्य गाठले आहे.

संरक्षण आणि सुरक्षा

स्वदेशी ‘स्मार्ट अॅन्टी एयरफील्ड व्हेपन’ची यशस्वी चाचणी

• भारताच्या संरक्षण संशोधन व विकास संस्थेने (DRDO) स्वदेशी विकसित ‘स्मार्ट अॅंटी एयरफील्ड व्हेपन’ (SAAW) या मार्गदर्शित बॉम्बची हवाई चाचणी यशस्वीपणे पार पाडली आहे. 16 ते 18 ऑगस्ट 2018 दरम्यान तीन चाचण्या घेण्यात आल्या.
• ‘स्मार्ट अॅंटी एयरफील्ड व्हेपन’ (SAAW) जमिनीवरचे कोणतेही लक्ष्य नष्ट करण्यास सक्षम आहे. मार्गदर्शित असल्याने त्याची अचूकता अधिक आहे. या स्वदेशी बनावटीच्या हलक्या ‘ग्लाइड’ बॉम्बने 70 किलोमीटर अंतरावरील लक्ष्यांचा अचूक वेध घेतला जाऊ शकतो. या प्रकारचे शस्त्र यशस्वीपणे तयार करणारा भारत हा पहिला देश ठरला आहे.

रणगाडा-भेदी 'हेलीना' क्षेपणास्त्राची हवाई चाचणी यशस्वी

• DRDO कडून विकसित 'हेलीना' (HELINA) या रणगाडा-भेदी मार्गदर्शित क्षेपणास्त्राची (ATGM) चाचणी लष्कराच्या हेलिकॉप्टरच्या सहाय्याने पोखरणमध्ये यशस्वीपणे पार पाडली आहे.
• हेलिकॉप्टरच्या सहाय्याने सोडले जाणारे हेलीना क्षेपणास्त्र ‘इन्फ्रारेड इमेजिंग सिकर (IIR) द्वारे मार्गदर्शित केले जाते. हे जगातल्या सर्वात अत्याधुनिक रणगाडा-भेदी शस्त्रांपैकी एक आहे.
• संरक्षण संशोधन व विकास संस्था (DRDO) भारत सरकारच्या संरक्षण मंत्रालयाच्या अखत्यारीत असलेली एक संस्था आहे, जी लष्करासाठी संशोधन आणि विकास कार्यात गुंतलेली आहे. याची स्थापना 1958 साली झाली आणि याचे मुख्यालय नवी दिल्लीत आहे. “बलस्य मूलं विज्ञानम्” हे याचे घोषवाक्य आहे.
